The Pub

After sleeping till noon, we went out to have lunch. Stopped at Starbucks for a decaf cafe mocha, then walked around Picadilly. It was 35 degrees outside.
Walked to the local pub, Nicholas the Clarence where we had bangors and mash (sausage and mashed potato's). Met up with the Salmons, who arrived this afternoon. We walked through Green Park over to Buchingham Palace. Saw the gaurds, who marched but did not change today. Victoria's Fountain in front of the palace, walked around the block to the Queens Royal Gallery, where we bought some souveniers. While walking around we decided to have dinner at the BagONails Pub. I ate nacho's, which were made with dorito's. They were really good. Also had a lemonade (sprite). We shared a toffee and date sticky pudding with custard , and continued our walk. Went past the Wellington Arch, and the short walk back to the Park Lane Hotel. Planning the red bus tour of the city tomorrow. Off to bed!!

Saturday night in London

After we arrived we took a cab to the Parklane Hotel. Our room is on the seventh floor with views of Green Park, Big Ben and the London Eye. We went to the concierge to see what plays are in town. He also told us about a good restaurant for dinner. I walked two blocks to a nice Italian restaurant called Prezzo. I ate mozarella sticks, pasta and ice cream. It was thirty degrees during our walk. Mom and dad had wine and toasted our visit to London. I watched rugby and wrestling on tv after dinner, then slept fourteen hours.

Meals

They served me dinner, the best part was the ice cream.

I sat by moms seat for breakfast while they made my bed up. Neil Patrick Harris, the actor, was in the seat next to mom. Next to me was a videogame designer from Activision. We talked about the games we liked to play.

Plane trip to London

Today I flew to London. This is my first class seat. I slept and ate dinner and breakfast on the plane.

Getting ready

Hi, This is Alex. I am getting ready for my journey with my parents and family friends. We are going to London, England for a week, then traveling to South Africa and Zimbabwe for a month. I am looking forward to my travels, and will keep you posted as to the exciting adventures I encounter. Although, I'm told its cold in London - I'll be leaving the warm California sunshine to find cold and rain across the Atlantic. Oh well, I've got warm clothes packed. It will be fun. We decided to get flags from all the countries I've visited and put them on my suitcase- it'll be easier to find, too.
